Abstract

Kata kunci: Behaviour based safety, pekerja konstruksi. Background: Behaviour based safety is an effective method for preventing occupational accidents. Behaviour based safety can achieve safety index targets and can also provide a structural approach to long term safety management. Objective: This study aims to determine the factors associated with behaviour based safety on construction workers hotel construction, mall and apartement T in the city of Semarang. Method: This research uses explanatory research type with cross sectional approach. The population of this research is all of construction workers hotel, mall and apartement T which amount to 42 workers with total sampling technique. The variables of this research are characteristics (age, education, working period, knowledge), management (communication, supervision, regulation policy) and availability of facilities/APD. Result: Based on the results of the study , it is known that 64,3% of workers aged ≥30 years and 35,7% of workers aged <30 years, 52,4% of junior educated workers and 47,6% of elementary educated workers, 52,4% ≥9 years and 47,6% of workers have a new work period of <9 years, 59,5% of knowledgeable workers and 40,5% of knowledgeable workers, 95,2% of workers stated good communication 4,8% of workers stated poor communication 92,9% of workers stated good supervision and 7,1% of workers stated poor supervision, 92,9% of workers stated good regulation and policy and 7,1% of workers stated that regulation and policy was not good, 88,1% of workers stated availability of APD facility fulfilled and 11,9% of workers said the availability of APD facilities is not met, 81,0% og the workers behaved safely and 19,0% of workers behaved unsaved. Conclusion: Factors related to behaviour based safety are characteristics (age, education, working period), management (communication, supervision, regulation policy) and availability of facilities/ APD. factors that are not related to behaviour based safety are knowledge. Whereas, a very dominant factor associated with behaviour based safety is the availability of facilities/ APD and age. Keywords: Behaviour based safety, construction workers.
