Abstract

Kata Kunci: Kepadatan Nyamuk, Kejadian Infeksi Parasit Malaria Relationship of mosquito density Anopheles SpWith The Incidence Of Malaria Parasite Infections In Occupants (Study In Jatirejo Village, Kaligesing, Purworejo). Background: Malaria is a vector-borne disease with relativ high endemicity in Indonesia. The disease caused by Plasmodium spp and transmitted by Anopheles spp female mosquito vector in JatirejoKaligesingPurworejo village has an API of 14.66%. High vector density deserves consideration as one of the causes of high rates of transmission of malaria. Objective: To know the relationship between the density of Anopheles spp mosquito with the incidence of malaria parasite infection in the house occupant in Jatirejo Village.Method: Cross sectional design, 17 residential units as research samples. A microscopic blood examination was performed on all residents of the sample unit. The density of mosquitoes was calculated by the method of man biting rate (MBR) inside and outside the house as wellas in the bush that was done from 19.00 - 22.00 WIB.Results: 36.2% of respondents were malaria positive. The average density of mosquitoes in units of sequential bite per hour for inside the house, outside the house and in the bush is 4.60; 4.68 and 5.15. The incidence of malaria infection was significantly correlated with home mosquito density (p = 0.039), out-of-house mosquito density (p = 0.008) and mosquito density in bush (0.005). The density of mosquitoes outside the home is significantly related to the number of livestock (p = 0.007). Nighttime habits are significantly related to the density of mosquitoes outside the home (0.023). While there was no significant relationship between the density of the dwelling with the density of mosquitoes in the house (0.531) and the existence of the cattle pen with the density of mosquitoes outside the home (0.062). Keywords: Mosquito Density, Occurrence of Malaria Parasite Infection
