Abstract
Latar Belakang: Karies gigi merupakan penyakit multifaktoral dengan 4 faktor utama yang saling mempengaruhi yaitu hospes (saliva dan gigi), mikroorganisme, substrat atau diet dan sebagai faktor tambahan yaitu waktu. Faktor sekunder lain yang penting adalah praktik hygiene oral dan aliran silva. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan pengetahuan, umur dan jenis kelamin dengan kejadian karies gigi pada MI Muhammadiyah Jatikulon Kudus. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional. Populasi siswa-siswi sebanyak 106 orang, jumlah sampel menggunakan rumus solvin 52 responden, uji statistik digunakan uji Chi square dan uji Fisher’s Exact. Hasil Penelitian responden yang berpengetahuan baik sebanyak (23,1%) berumur 7-8 tahun sebanyak (80,7%) berumur 9-10 tahun sebanyak (19,3%) berjenis kelamin laki-laki sebanyak (55,8%) dan berjenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak (44,2%). Ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan kejadian karies gigi nilai Fisher’s Exact sebesar 0,023, sedangkan umur dan jenis kelamin tidak mempunyai hubungan dengan kejadian karies gigi. Kesimpulan ada hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan dengan kejadian karies gigi sedangkan umur dan jenis kelamin tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna dengan kejadian karies gigi. Saran Pihak sekolah perlu melakukan pemeriksaan gigi rutin untuk semua siswa dan siswi minimal setiap 6 bulan sekali. Meningkatkan kinerja Usaha Kesehatan Gigi Sekolah (UKGS) melalui pelatihan dokter kecil. Kata kunci: Pengetahuan, Umur, Jenis Kelamin, Karies Gigi. Background: Dental caries is a multifactoral disease with 4 main factors affecting each other namely the host (saliva and teeth), microorganisms, substrates or diet and as an additional factor that is time. Another important secondary factor is the practice of oral hygiene and silva flow. This study aims to analyze the relationship of knowledge, age and sex with the incidence of dental caries in MI Muhammadiyah Jatikulon Kudus. This type of research uses analytical research with cross sectional design. The population of 106 students, the number of samples using solvin formula 52 respondents, statistical test used Chi square test and Fisher's Exact test. The results of the study were well-known (23.1%) aged 7-8 years (80.7%) aged 9-10 years as much (19.3%) as men (55.8%) and Female sex as much (44.2%). There is a correlation between knowledge with dental caries incidence of Fisher's Exact value of 0,023, while age and gender have no relation with dental caries occurrence. Conclusion There is a significant correlation between knowledge with dental caries incidence whereas age and gender there is no significant relationship with dental caries incidence. Advice The school party needs to perform routine dental checks for all students and students at least every 6 months.
