Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50% v/v larutan umbi bawang putih dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus dan P. aeruginosa. Tahapan penelitian diawali dengan kultifikasi (peremajaan bakteri) S. aureus dan P. aeruginosa. Pembuatan larutan umbi bawang putih dengan cara diblender dan disaring menggunakan kassa steril, kemudian dibuat berbagai konsentrasi dengan cara pengenceran. Metode pengujian menggunakan difusi sumuran. Hasil menunjukan larutan umbi bawang putih dengan konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50% v/v dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus dengan rerata berurutan 14,33 mm, 15,83 mm, 17,16 mm, 19,16 mm dan 22,33 mm, sedangkan pada bakteri P. aeruginosa tebentuk zona hambat pada konsentrasi 30%, 40%, dan 50% v/v dengan rerata berurutan 11,33 mm, 12,67 mm, dan 14,67 mm. Hasil uji T test dengan nilai p=0,009 menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara variasi konsentrasi larutan umbi bawang putih dengan zona hambat yang dihasilkan bakteri S. aureus dan P. aeruginosa karena p<0,05. The aim of this research was to know and to analyze the effect of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% v/v concentration of garlic bulb solution to inhibit the growth of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa bacteria. The research stages were initiated by the cultivation of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa. Preparation of garlic bulb solution by blend and filtered using sterile gauze, then made various concentrations by way of dilution. Test method using diffusion well. The results showed that garlic bulb solution with concentration of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% v/v can inhibit the growth of S. aureus bacteria with a mean of 14.33 mm, 15,83 mm, 17,16 mm, 19.16 mm and 22.33 mm, whereas in P. aeruginosa bacteria drag zone in concentrations of 30%, 40%, and 50% v/v with a mean of 11.33 mm, 12.67 mm, and 14.67 mm. The result of T test with p=0,009 mean that there is difference of concentration to the inhibition zone of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa bacteria because p<0,05.
