Abstract
Industri tekstil di Indonesia menghasilkan limbah yang berasal dari proses pewarnaan, salah satunya metilen biru. Zat warna ini bersifat karsinogenik dan non-biodegradable. Material yang digunakan sebagai adsorben dalam penyerapan zat warna adalah zeolit ZSM-5.Tujuan penelitian untuk mengkaji penurunan kadar metilen biru dalam air dengan serbuk zeolit ZSM-5 yang disintesis pada suhu rendahberdasarkan variasi konsentrasi dan lama waktu perendaman. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia Fakultas Ilmu Keperawatan dan Kesehatan Muhammadiyah Semarang. Waktu penelitian pada bulan Februari − Juli 2017. Sampel penelitian menggunakan larutan baku metilen biru dengan konsentrasi 50 ppm kemudian dilakukan perendaman menggunakan Zeolit ZSM-5 dengan variasi konsentrasi (0,25 %b/v, 0,50 %b/v, 0,75 %b/v, 1,00 %b/v) dan waktu perendaman (30, 60, 90 dan 120 menit). Penetapan kadar metilen biru memperoleh hasil pada panjang gelombang 665 nm dengan kadar metilen biru awal 43,27 ppm. Persentase penurunan kadar MB tertinggi yaitu sebesar 96,82% diperoleh dengan penambahan zeolit ZSM-5 0,75 %b/vyang direndam selama120 menit. Kata kunci: Metilen Biru (MB), Zeolit ZSM-5, Variasi Konsentrasi, Waktu Perendaman. Textile industrial in Indonesia produce waste which is from staining process like blue methylen. This stain is carcinogen and non-biodegradable. Materials used by adsorbance in dye adsorption are ZSM-5 zeolit. This research study is aims to analysis decreased of blue methylen content in water. Analyzed with ZSM-5 Zeolit powder which synthesized in low temperature pursuant to concentration variance and submerge duration. This research done in the chemical laboratory, nursing and health faculty, Muhammadiyah University of Semarang on February – July 2017. Sampels of research used standard condensation of blue methylen with 50 ppm concentration andsubmerge use by ZSM-5 Zeolit. Concentrations varian which are used 0,25 %w/v, 0,50 %w/v, 0,75 %w/v, 1,00 %w/v and submerge duration are 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes. Result of blue methylen determining are 43,27 ppm in beginning with 665 nm long wave. Optimum decreased of blue methylen are 96,82 % in 0,75 %b/v of ZSM-5 zeolit during 120 minutes.
