Abstract

Kata Kunci: Kolesterol, Kadar Kolesterol Darah, Alat Spektrofotometer, Alat POCT Increased cholesterol or hypercholesterolemia is very harmful for health. Blood cholesterol test may use two tools that spectrophotometer and POCT (Point of Care Testing). Though both are used for blood cholesterol tests, but both of these tools have some differences when the review of the working principles, cost required, sample, and also benefits in its use. The purpose of this study of analyze their comparative blood cholesterol test result using a spectrophotometer and POCT. The design study is an observational study with cross sectional study using 16 samples where for blood cholesterol using spectrophotometer and POCT we used sample of venous blood. Data were analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk test after that followed by Independent sample t-test. Obtained the average result of blood cholesterol levels using spectrophotometer 163,19 mg/dL and the average result of blood cholesterol levels using POCT 203,81 mg/dL. Results indicate there is very significant difference between the examination of blood cholesterol levels using spectrophotometer and POCT with P-value = 0.000 (< the alpha value 0.05) Keywords: Cholesterol, Blood Cholesterol Levels, Spectrophotometer, POCT
