Abstract

Hemoglobin is a protein compound with Fe called a conjugated protein. Fe core and with skeletal protoporphyrin and globin (tetra phyrin) cause red due to Fe. Together with erythrocytes Hb with carbon dioxide becomes karboxyhemoglobin and its color is dark red.. Examination of hemoglobin in various methods, using hematology analyzer and semi automatic photometer tool. Although somewhat used for hemoglobin examination, will these two tools also differ in terms of working principles, as well as benefits in use. The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison of hemoglobin examination results using hematology analyzer and semi automatic photometer tool. The research design used was analytical with cross sectional approach using 61 samples which for hemoglobin examination using hematology analyzer and semi automatic photometer tool using vein / whole blood sample. The data were analyzed by Kolmogorov Smirnov test, followed by independent sample t-test. The results of this study indicate that the statistical test performed gives p = 0.565 (> from α 0.005), which means at α = 5% there is no significant difference between the mean hemoglobin level examined by means of hematology analyzer and checked using semi automatic photometer. Keywords: Hemoglobin, Hematology Analyzer, Photometer
