Abstract

Typhoid isdisease that is prevalent in developing country which is associated with sanitation and hygiene problems. Laboratory workersis a vulnerable groups, so that hand washing is one of the standards which must be obeyed. The hand washing obedience considered to representing prevention efforts of typhoid transmission in laboratory. This research goal is to know the relationship between hand washing obedience and typhoid infection on laboratory workers. This researchtype is analytic observational. The sampleswere taken from 26 people who are the total number of population. The respondents were tested their hand washing obedience by completing questionnarire and observation, and later got their blood checked with widal test. The examination result of hand washing obedience was 80,8%, and respondets who tifoid infection 80,8. From Chi-Square test can be concluded that there was relationship between hand washing obedience with typhoid infection. Keywords: hand washing obedience, typhoidinfection
