Abstract

LDL was an abnormal cholesterol attached to the walls of the arteries. If LDL in the bloodstream was large enough, it could cause accumulation of the blood in the artery in which caused the blood became narrow so that it could cause a cardiovascular disease that could threaten the person. This study aimed to determine the differences of LDL levels before and 1 hour after the blood donor. This type of research was analytic. The amount of 16 respondents who had fulfilled the blood donor requirement, samples of EDTA vein + anticoagulant ± 3ml. The research was done to see the differences of LDL levels. Calculation of the research used micro lab 200. The test was done using different test of Peired sample t-test. The results of the study obtained the average LDL level before the blood donor was 118 mg / dL and LDL after 1 hour donor was 97 mg / dL, so it was obtained P value: 0.000 which could be concluded that p <0.05 which made Ho was rejected. The conclusion was there was a significant difference between LDL levels before and 1 hour after the blood donation. It is hoped that through the examination, people could realize about the importance of LDL examination and it could be used to decrease LDL levels in the blood. Keywords: Blood donor, LDL before and 1 hour after donor
