Abstract

Measurement of SGPT (serum glutamic axaloacetic transaminase) ideally uses serum for sample which is appropriate with SOP (standard operating procedure), however many laboratories use plasma for sample (certain anticoagulant). The purpose of this study is to get information about the difference of SGPT measurement result which use EDTA plasma and serum. This study was conducted on 32 venous blood samples of Semarang Muhammadiyah University students. Measurement of SGPT level with plasma of EDTA and serum samples uses Photometer 4010. Frequency distribution result shows that mean of SGPT level with plasma of EDTA and serum sample are 28,75 U/L and 24,19 U/L. Statistic Paired Samples Test is used for analyzing the difference of SGPT measurement result with plasma of EDTA and serum samples. The result of Paired Sample Test is significancy value p=0,001 < 0,05 which means there is difference of SGPT level on plasma of EDTA and serum. Keyword : SGPT, plasma of EDTA, Serum
