Abstract

Heart failure disease has a negative impact on the fulfillment of basic needs. The inability of the heart failure patient to adapt to his illness, including early recognition of the symptoms of the disease, will affect the quality of life he lives on a daily basis. The purpose of this study is the relationship of family support with quality of life in GJK patients at Elang Hospital RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. The design of this research is correlation study with cross sectional approach. Respondents of this study were patients with CHF disease at Elang RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. Sampling technique used is purposive sampling amounted to 78 respondents. The results showed that family support was mostly in good category (56.4%). The quality of life of patients with heart failure is good and bad as big as 50.0% each. There is a significant relationship between family support and quality of life in GJK patients at Elang Hospital RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang with nlai r of 0.437 and p value of 0.000. Recommendation for the family to always provide support in specially emotional and assessment support to members of his family who suffer from GJK so feel cared for and cherished.
