Abstract

Relationship of Stress Level With Menstrual Cycle In female youth at Rusunawa University of Muhammadiyah Semarang xiv + 49 pages + 10 tables + 2 schemes + 10 attachments Stress is a physical and psychological reaction to any demands that caused of tension and disrupt the stability of daily life. If a person was under stress it would be experience a disruption in the reproductive system, digestive system and hypertension. The menstrual cycle is the periodic bleeding from the uterus accompanied by the release of the endometrium, menstrual cycles usually every 21-35 days depended on various factors include health problems, stress and weight gain. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between stress and the menstrual cycle in young women at the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang Rusunawa. This type of research is a quantitative research with cross sectional design. The research samples are 148 respondents with simple random sampling technique. The results showed that the stress level in female youth in the normal category (20.9%), mild (20.3%), moderate (51.4%), weight (7.4%). Female youth menstrual cycle is normal category (50.7%), polimenorea (36.5%), oligomenorrhea (12.8%). There is a relationship between stress level with the menstrual cycle (p = 0.000), when female youth experience a level of stress that severe or moderate, the greater the potential for experiencing menstrual disorders in female youth. Recommendation from researcher for teens to maintain the health of one of them by take care not to undergo excessive stress because stress can cause one of the menstrual cycle.
