Abstract
Gout illness can strike both theyouths and the elders.The youths tend to disregard their diet. Consuming foods with high level of purine for example, can cause gout symptoms, meanwhile the elders go through decreased metabolism which also decreasing the production of some enzymes and hormones.This process affects the kidneys in the process of uric acid expenditure.The objective of this research is to find out the profile of uric acid level based on the age.The type used is descriptive. The population of this research is the citizens of Pringsari Village RT 01 RW 02 Pringapus District, Semarang Regency.The samples are taken by proportionate stratified random sampling as much as 24 samples with the respondents of <20 year-old, 33 samples of respondent in between 20-40 year-old, and 23 samples of respondent of >40 year-old, which make total of 80 samples check. The results of this research show that 71 respondents have the normal level of uric acid (88,75%) and 9 respondents have higher level of uric acid (11,25%).The respondents with higher level of uric acid are 2 respondentsfrom the group of 20-40 year-old(2,5%), and 7 respondents from the group of >40 year-old (8,75%) and the result of uric acid levels test based on the diet, shows that respondents who consume off alhave higher acid levels than respondents who have seafood and beans for their diet.
