Abstract

Platetes are blood cells that have no nucleus with a diameter of 1 to 4 micrometers and the volume of 7-8 fl. The amount of blood in the normal state of the human body is 150.000-350.000 on platelet count examination by direct method checked using Rees Ecker and incubated. Examination the number of platelets wit a view of 40x objective magnfiction and multiple by 20.000 /mm3 darah. Incubation time on platelet examination aims to precipitate platelet cells and prevent evaporation of the reagent.the purpose of this study was to determine the differenc of platelet count based on the length of incubation time of the direct method. The result of the examination showed the average of latelet count with incubation 5 minutes was 266.950 /mm3 blood, inkubai 10 menit adalah 269.500 /mm3, sedangkan inkubasi 15 menit adalah 277.650 /mm3 blood. The indicates that there is a difference in each incubation but is still within normal value limits. One Way Anova statistical test shows significance with significance lever more than 0,05 so it can be concluded that there is comparison between incubation result 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes. Keywords : platelet count, incubation time, direct method
