Abstract
CO is a gaseous, odorless, tasteless and colorless substance making it is very difficult to detect. CO is a very toxic gas, because it binds hemoglobin faster to form COHb causing a shortage of oxygen supply to some extent causes increased risk of death due to haemoglobine binding. Experimental approach was used supported study library. CO gas samples was obtained from cigarettes which ignited in the box 18.000 cm3. This research aims to know the effectivity of ZSM sized ( 1x1 cm, 2 x 2 cm, 3 x 3 cm, 4 x 4 cm and 5 x 5 cm) and contact time (5 min, 10 min, 20 min and 30 min) adsorbed on the cigarette smoke so that it can reduce the levels of CO. The result showed ZSM-5 membrane sized 5 x 5 cm within 30 min was reduce 49.96%, it was the most effective to adsorbed CO. One Way Anova showed that there was p-value 0,004< 0,05, and then Post Hoc Duncan showed p-value 1,000>0,05 on sized 5 x 5 cm within 30 min, it could be conclude that there are effect variation sized ZSM-5 Membrane and time contact to reduce CO gasses. Keywords : Zeolit ZSM-5, CO gas, Effectiveness
