Abstract
Creatinine examination is an important blood chemistry examination performed to support the diagnosis in patients with renal failure. The method of creatinine examination using Jaffe Reaction without deproteinase, in this method direct sample measurements without added TCA 1.2N so that other nitrogen compounds can affect the results of the examination. Creatinine inspection is basically done with serum, but in some cases the technical constraints stem from the acceptance of K3EDTA blood samples for creatinine examination. Serum and plasma samples have different characteristics. Serum contains no fibrinogen but other substances are still present in it, whereas K3EDTA plasma is blood that has been added with a potassium-containing anticoagulant that causes erythrocytes to contract. The fluid transfer from the erythrocytes causes the dilution of the plasma component. This type of research is analytic. This research was conducted at Sarana Medika Magetan Laboratory with population from patient of Sarana Medika Magetan Laboratory. Samples examined by creatinine were 19 patients using serum and plasma K3EDTA samples with Jaffe Reaction method without deproteinase. Creatinine serum and K3EDTA plasma differences are known by using normality test saphiro wilk which is not abnormal distribution with significant value 0.000 smaller than significant level 0,05. Research data then analyzed with Wilcoxon statistical test obtained p value 0,000 then Ho accepted. So it is concluded there is no significant difference between serum and plasma K3EDTA. Keywords : Creatinine levels. Serum. Plasma K3EDTA
