Abstract

Background : Breast self-examination (BSE) is one of the early detection steps to find early-stage breast cancer that will be more effective if done as early as possible, because 85% of abnormalities in the breast was first recognized by the patient if not screened in bulk. Research Target : The purpose of this study is to determine the description of knowledge and attitudes of female students about breast self-examination (SADARI) in boarding school K.H Sahlan Rosjidi University of Muhammadiyah Semarang. Research Methode : The type of research used in the form of descriptive quantitative research. The population of respondents is 280 people with the number of research samples are 68 people. With simple random sampling approach. taking data using koesioner, research variables studied in this research is knowledge and attitude of student about BSE. Result of Reserch : Where univariate result in this research is more than 75,0% of respondents with low knowledge level, 1,5% with enough knowledge and 23,5% with good knowledge. As for the attitude of respondent for BSE 70,6) rsponden with attitude not support (negative) and 29% with attitude support (positive). Suggestion : It is suggested that the efforts of the campus parties in addition to the provision of courses also need a seminar or scientific discussion about reproductive health in adolescents, especially about BSE.
