Abstract

Examination count the number of leukocytes is one of hematology examination that aims to determine the number of leukocytes cell mm3 / μL blood. Examination of leukocyte count using manual method with macro dilution using K3EDTA blood should be checked immediately, but in reality this is often neglected. This research is done with the aim of knowing whether or not the effect of delay time and storage temperature to the number of leukocytes. This type of research is analytic research. Samples were taken randomly as many as 5 samples from patient clinic of PKU Muhammadiyah Sampang Cilacap. The result of examination showed the average number of leukocytes at 25ºC-27ºC delay of 2 hours to 6 hours was 5923 / μL while the mean at 2ºC-4ºC delay of 2 hours to 6 hours was 6100 / μL. This indicates the number of leukocytes that are delayed and stored at temperatures of 2º-4ºC higher than those stored at 25º-27ºC, but both are still within normal limits. One Way Anova statistical test shows the significance of 0.740 with significance level of 0.740> 0.05. It can be concluded that there is no significant influence between delay time and storage temperature on leukocyte count. Keywords: Delay Time, Storage Temperature, Calculate Leukocyte Count, Manual Method
