Abstract

Checking urea is one of an important parameter of kidney function before a person recieve surgery, where the reagent have to keep in 2 - 8°C temperature to keep stability, and the reagent have to incubation for 30 minutes in 15 - 25°C before use. There are various conditions experienced by the patients who require cito laboratory because the patient’s conditions are severe, so the checking of urea is done without incubation process the reagent at room temperature for 30 minutes. Low temperature give effects to the reaction of urea, making the reaction rate is slower. This research aims to know the different temperature reagent to urea. This research use analytic observation method with cross sectional. Samples are patiens of Jatiwinangun Surgery Hospital with double replication of temperature reagents, there are at 2 - 8°C and 15 - 25°C. The result of this reseach at the temperature of 2 - 8°C the mean is 23,45 mg/dl, while the result at the temperature of 15 – 25°C is 28,38 mg/dl. Based on paired t test sample obtained p value is 0,00 with α 0,05 (<0,05), that mean H1 : d ≠ 0 is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is difference of urea which checked at difference temperature 2 - 8°C and 15 - 25°C of reagents. Keywords: Urea; the temperature of refrigerator; the temperature of room.
