Abstract

Background: Hemodialysis is a form of replacement therapy for kidney function with the help of dializer tool. Hemodialysis can be performed 1 to 3 times a week according to the degree of kidney damage and takes 3 - 5 hours each time hemodialysis. this activity takes place regularly and continuously throughout life. hemodialysis complications can cause discomfort, decreased quality of life including physical health, psychological, spiritual, socioeconomic status. The psychological impacts include anxiety, stress and depression. Objective: Analyze the influence of murderal Al Qura'an therapy on stress and depression levels undergoing hemodialysis in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease in Hemodialysis’ Room of Muhammadiyah Islamic Hospital Kendal. Method: This research method used quasi experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Sampling method in this research was done by purposive sampling that is 30 people of chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. Data collection used DASS questionnaires. The analysis in this research used T-test and wilcoxson test. Result: It was found that the pre-test of mild stress level were 6 respondents (20%) and light stress 4 respondents (13,3%). Levels of stress decreased the number of respondents as much as 1 respondent for mild stress and 3 respondents (10%) for moderate stress. For depression levels after the murottal Al-Qura'an treatment performed the depression level showed normal depression 26 respondents (86.7%) and mild 4 respondents (13.3%).
