Abstract
Pseudomona aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogenic bacterium, when the host's defense mechanism is weakened by utilizing damage to initiate an infection. These bacteria can cause infections in the urinary tract, respiratory infections, dermatitis, soft tissue infections, bacteremia, bone and joint infections, digestive infections, and various types of systemic infections, especially in patients with severe burns, who experience a decrease in the immune system. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibitory power of avocado extract with soxhletation method at a concentration of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, and, 90%, on the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. The extraction method used in this study is using the Soxhletasi method. The inhibitory test in this study used a concentration of avocado extract 100 mg / 1ml - 900 mg / 1ml with the method of suction and antibiotic Ciprofloxacin as a positive control. The inhibitory test results of avocado extract at concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, and 90% there is no inhibitory zone around the wells. Keywords: Inhibitory Test, Avocado Fruit, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
