Abstract

Cholesterol levels in the body can endanger health. The balance between cholesterol input and its expenditure on humans is not always appropriate, which causes gradual accumulation of cholesterol in the tissues, especially in the endothelium lining blood vessels. These conditions can cause atherosclerosis. This underlies the examination of cholesterol levels in the GMC (General Medical Check up) program held at the Manahan Health Center in Surakarta City. This program is specifically for people aged over 40 years. The author considers that research needs to be done to find out the description of cholesterol levels in GMC patients at Manahan Health Center, Surakarta City. Descriptive study of 42 patients in April-May 2018. Cholesterol levels were examined using analytical chemistry. The results of the study revealed that the number of female patients was more than male patients. Male patients aged 44-72 years, and female patients in the age range of 40-70 years. Cholesterol levels in the range 143-378 mg / dL with a mean of 264.33 mg / dL and standard deviation 49.78 mg / dL Keywords: cholesterol level
