Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an important health problem in the tropics and sub-tropics, WHO estimates there are currently 50-100 million dengue infections worldwide every year. Patients infected with the dengue virus will experience increased vascular permeability which leads to plasma leakage resulting in hemoconcentration, patients with longer fever more higher the hematocrit level. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of hematocrit levels in DHF infection patients based on the lenght of fever. This type of research is descriptive research. Samples were taken from the data of patients who performed routine anti-dengue IgG and IgM those who tested positive for DHF, and blood tests at the Prodia Yogyakarta Clinical Laboratory in the period January - December 2016, hematocrit levels as measured by the Cumulative Pulse Hight Detection method are described using tables basen on the length of fever. The results showed that the average hematocrit level of patients was 42.4%, the patients who came to check the fever on day 4 were the most, which was 16 (35.6%), while the patients who came in the 7th day were the least, which is 4 (8.9%). Average hematocrit levels of patients always increased from day 3 fever (39.8%) to day 7 fever (46.0%). Key words : length of fever, hematocrit level
