Abstract

Pregnant women are one of the groups prone to malnutrition, especially lack of hemoglobin (Hb) levels due to an increase in iron requirements to meet the needs of the mother and fetus. First trimester pregnant women can experience a decrease in hehoglobin levels due to adaptation during pregnancy such as nausea, and lack of appetite. Iron (Fe) requirements in pregnant women increase in the third trimester due to faster fetal growth so that iron (Fe) needs are more than in the previous trimester. Additional iron administration in pregnant women can be in the form of iron (Fe) or Fe tablet supplementation. This study aims to determine the hemoglobin level in pregnant women in the first trimester and third trimester who consume Fe tablets. Descriptive research type. Cyanmethemoglobin research method. The sample was taken in a total of 20 samples of pregnant women population at the sigaluh 1 health center. The results showed that the average hemoglobin level in first trimester pregnant women was 13,140 g / dl, and the third trimester was 12,955 g / dl, based on the results of the recapitulation the questionnaire showed the number of pregnant women who regularly consumed Fe tablets by 35%, and the number Pregnant women who do not routinely consume Fe tablets by 65%, the results also showed that as many as 20 patients (100%) consumed Fe tablets by using water and no patients used tea water or others to consume Fe tablets. Keywords: Hemoglobin levels, pregnant women, Fe tablets
