Abstract

Infection disease is caused by pathogen microbe. Bacteria is one of pathogen microbe which cause infection. There is 42,1% infection disease especially infect the skin cause by Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus). Purpose: To identify antibacterial activity from the methanol extract of P.flabellatus through Multidrug Resistance Staphylococcus aureus (MDR-S. aureus). To identify the MIC value from the extract. Method: The extraction process was maceration method by using a methanol solvent. The antibacterial activity was well diffusion method by using MHA and the MIC was micro-dilution method by using MHB. Results: Extract of the methanol extract of P. flabellatus showed polar constitution relative by 12.30%. The result of antibacterial activity using well method from the methanol extract of P.flabellatus towards MDR S. aureus was indicated by a diameter of slowing zone around of the well by 5.5 mm with the extract concentration as 1000 mg/mL. The extract which was examined showed antibacterial activity towards MDR S. aureus by 250 mg/mL of the MIC value. Conclusion: The the methanol extract of P.flabellatus is potentially to be an antibacterial towards MDR S. aureus. Keyword: Methanol extract, Pleurotus flabellatus, MDR, Staphylococcus aureus, MIC.
