Abstract

Background: Occupational Health and Safety (K3) is one of the protection of workers in all types of business activities, both formal and informal. One of the labor protections is the prevention of PAK. PAK which often occurs one of them is MSDs. MSDs are complaints of muscles, tendons and nerves that originate from the burden received, repeatedly and over a period of time from work. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between type of work, age, years of service, nutritional status and work position with impaired MSDs in center of fish fuming workers. Method: This type of research is analytic with cross sectional approach. The study population was 77 workers, the sample used was 49 workers. The instrument uses questionnaires, QEC observation sheets, MSDs disturbance check sheets, data analysis using chi-square. Results: Type of fish cutting work 71.4%, working age> 30 years at 51.0%, 71.4% working period ≥5 years, nutritional status at risk 59.2%, 57.1% work position level 4, interference MSDs are experienced by 68.8% of workers. 77.1% of fish cutting,> 30 years of age were 84.0%, 74.3% working period was ≥5 years, nutritional status was 69.0% at risk, and level 3 and 4 work positions were 67.3% MSDs impaired . Based on chi-square test, type of work with MSDs (p = 0.040), age with MSDs (p = 0.026), years of service with MSDs (p = 0.176), nutritional status of workers with MSDs (p = 1,000) and work position (p = 1,000) Conclusion: There is a relationship between type of work, age with impaired MSDs and no relationship between years of work, nutritional status, work position with impaired MSDs.
