Abstract
when the patient coughs, sneezes, and converses at close range. This study aims to determine the distribution of suspected pulmonary tuberculosis in families with positive pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Method: independent variables of occupancy density, contact intensity and patient's coughing ethics. The dependent variable is the presence of suspected pulmonary tuberculosis. In this study using analytical survey method, this cross-sectional approach involved 58 family members from 19 positive patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who were undergoing intensive treatment. Data analysis uses Chi-Square test. Results: Of the 58 respondents there were 3 people who became suspects of pulmonary tuberculosis. The density of dense settlements is 27 respondents, the intensity at risk there are 8 respondents and the ethics of coughing patients who are less well there are 54 respondents. In the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between the intensity of contact with the presence of suspected pulmonary tuberculosis p = 0.047 (p <0.05) and there was no relationship between occupancy density p = 0.547 (p> 0.05) and coughing ethics p = 1,000 (p > 0.05) with the presence of suspected pulmonary tuberculosis. Conclusion: the intensity of contact is related to the presence of tuberculosis suspects. Keywords: Pulmonary tuberculosis suspect, contact intensity
