Abstract
Background: Irritant contact dermatitis (ICD) is inflammation of the skin caused by someone's work. ICD due to work often occurs in informal workers who generally pay less attention to their health. Several factors that can cause contact dermatitis is are period of work, personal hygiene, use of PPE, and skin dissease history. Know relations between work period, personal hygiene, use of PPE, and skin dissease history with the incidence of irritant contact dermatitis. Method: This research is descriptive analytic cross-sectional design. Sample in this research as many as 40 people, used of total sampling. Independent variables covering period of work, personal hygiene, use of PPE, and history of skin diseases and the dependent variable is the incidence of irritant contact dermatitis. Analysis of data use the statistical analysis Chi Square. Result: Furniture workers who have new age category of 67.5%, furniture workers with personal hygiene category less good ie 57.5%, furniture workers with the use of PPE categories not routine and incomplete as much as 60%, and furniture workers who have history of disease the skin is 52.5% whereas from the results of the examination of the doctor of furniture workers with irritant contact dermatitis as much as 62.5%. New furniture worker 81.5% irritant contact dermatitis. Furniture workers with poor personal hygiene 82.6% suffer from irritant contact. Furniture workers with incomplete and incomplete PPE use 83.3% irritant. Furniture workers with a history of 85.7% of skin diseases suffering from irritant contact dermatitis. Conclusion: There was a significant between work period (p = 0,001), personal hygine (p = 0,006), use of APD (p = 0,003), and history of skin disease (p = 0,004).
