Abstract

Background: Work as a tire patch is one type of work that is vulnerable to various risks so that it can cause oxygen saturation because this work is often exposed to vehicles passing by. Preliminary study results show there are 11 people stated that they have a hard breath complaints while 5 people have headaches feels dizzy. The purpose of this study was to determine factors related to oxygen saturation in tire workers in Mugas, Semarang. Method: The type of research is analytical using cross sectional design, with the number of samples of 44 workers tire tires. The independent variables in this research are CO content, smoking habit, length of work, age and history of lung disease, while the dependent variable is oxygen saturation. The analysis was multivariate using multivariate logistic regression test. Results: Bivariate analysis showed that there were 4 variables: CO content, smoking habit, age category, and disease history related to oxygen saturation. Then followed by multivariate analysis obtained 2 variables that correlated significantly with oxygen saturation, the history of lung disease p value 0.001 and CO (<25 ppm) p value 0.014. Conclusion: So the history of lung disease is the most influential variable in predicting oxygen saturation variables, followed by the category variables CO content. Key word: oxygen saturation, history of lung disease, CO, vehicle
