Abstract

Background: The laboratory installation is one part of the hospital as a health facility that organizes medical services covering medical and non medical. RSUD Soetjiono Blora is a hospital type C. Sanitation and cleaning personnel are 22 people. In RSUD Soetjiono Blora there are some risky things that medical officer in the hospital still doing waste treatment which is not appropriate. From several problems in hospitals, it is necessary to handle medical waste in Soetjiono Blora Hospital with the aim to comply with the regulation of hospital's environmental health requirements. Method: Observations in the series of stages of the process of elaborating medical waste include sorting out medical waste, placing medical waste, transporting medical waste, processing medical waste, disposing of medical waste with Kepmenkes RI regulation 1204 / Menkes / SK / X / 2004. Result: medical waste treatment process at Soetjiono Blora Hospital laboratory at the phase of sorting of medical waste, transportation of medical waste, medical waste treatment, Disposal of medical waste not in accordance with Kepmenkes RI 1204 / Menkes / SK / X / 2004 on Hospital Health Requirements. Conclusion: Overall the stage of the medical waste treatment process is in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia 1204 / Menkes / SK / X / 2004 but there are several stages that are not in accordance with the applicable regulations.
