Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus and hypertension are one of the causes of death in the world besides it is one of the systemic diseases that manifests in the oral cavity, diabetic oral including dry mouth, bleeding gums (gingivitis), calculus, resorption of alveolar bone, peridontitis until the teeth shake and date. This study aims to determine differences in DMF-T index and gingival index in participants of PROLANIS (Chronic Disease Management Program) and non-PROLANIS. Method: descriptive analytic study with a croos sectional approach. The sample in this study were 73 people, using saturated sample techniques. Data analysis used Mann-Withney test. Result: Non-Prolanis respondents 53.4%, high DMF-T index 49.5%, gingival index heavy inflammation category 50.7%, difference in DMF-T index (p = 0.0000), difference gingival index (p = 0.032). Conclusion: There is a difference in DMF-T index and gingival index on partcipants of Prolanis and non Prolanis. Key word: DMF-T Index, Gingival Index, Prolanis, Non Prolanis
