Abstract

Background: High maternal mortality rates are associated with low coverage of antenatal care, especially for pure K1 services. This study aims to develop a new community-based system for finding pregnant women to improve the coverage of pure K1 services. Method: Research is an action research in which it is employed Kurt Lewin Model. The subject of this study is 8 respondents for developing the system, and 39 cadres for developing the evaluation system. The variables of this study are the development model, cadre skills, and findings of pregnant women. The research instrumens used are the checklist sheet and guided interview guidelines. Wilcoxon test is used to test the cadre skills. Results: Community-based system (cadre) discovers new pregnant women which are based on the problem of lack of human resources and infrastructure. The results of the system evaluation show that there are differences in skills before and after socialization with p=0,000<0,05 and health cadres increases the findings of pure K1 to 16 pregnant women. Conclusion: The maternal discovery system have been socialized and the results are effective to improve cadre skills and disclose pure K1 findings Keywords: Development of community_based systems, cadre skills, findings of pure K1
