Abstract

Background: One of the efforts carried out to improve the welfare of the elderly is the posyandu program for the elderly. In January 2018, in the village of Kuwaron 1 RW IV Bangetayu Kulon there was an active Posyandu for elderly people, with the number of elderly people as many as 30 elderly people. Objective: Descriptive Study to Explore the Participation of Elderly People in Posyandu for Elderly People in Ds. Kuwaron 1 RW IV Bangetayu Kulon Method: Quantitative descriptive study using a cross sectional approach. The population of all elderly in elderly Posyandu Kwaron 1 RW IV Bangetayu Kulon is 24 elderly people. Sampling is done by saturated sampling. Results: Research in elderly Posyandu at Kwaron 1 RW IV Bangetayu Kulon area about elderly participation, which namely the majority of respondents' knowledge was 22 respondents (91.7%), the majority of respondents aged around 65-70 years, age 67 were 5 respondents (20.83), age 65 as many as 4 respondents. The majority of respondents' education is basic education as many as 24 respondents (100%), the majority of the distance to the respondent's place is 0.15 km as many as 4 respondents (16.7%). The majority of family support to respondents did not support as many as 13 respondents (54.16%). The majority of respondents' attendance in every 1 year is 6 times per year attendance as many as 7 respondents (29.2%). Conclusion: Elderly knowledge about elderly posyandu is good. The majority of respondents age is 65-67 years. The majority of respondents' final education is basic education. The majority of respondents distance is 0,15 km. The elderly majority are supported by their families, and they haven’t regularly come to the elderly posyandu every year. Keywords: Knowledge, age, education, distance, support, attendance per year.
