Abstract
Background: One of the factors of health problems that occur in Indonesia refers to the health of mothers and children. Therefore, it is necessary for all layers of the society including the Indonesian Government and health practitioners to provide the best health services to overcome the afore mentioned problems during the pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period. Based on data from RSUD K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro in 2015- June 2018, there were 1.138 pregnant mothers who were diagnosed suffering from preeclampsia. Those shocking facts triggered the author to conduct research which is concerned with the factors that influence the preeclampsia occurrence for the pregnant mothers in K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro, Semarang. Objective: The study aims to disclose the factors that influence the preeclampsia occurrence for the pregnant mothers in K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro, Semarang. Method: This study is an analytic correlation with a retrospective approach. The sample of this study are 30 medical records of pregnant women with purposive sampling technique which meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria Results: The results of the bivariate analysis show that there is a correlation between the occupation and preeclampsia occurrence in which the p-value = 0.022. Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between the women' occupation and preeclampsia occurrence. In another respect, the study reveals that there is no significant correlation between preeclampsia occurrence and education, age, parity, chronic disease, history of pregnancy complications, and antenatal care.
