Abstract
The decline in MMR is the third target of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is expected to reduce MMR in Indonesia to below 70 per 100,000 live births in 2030. Data on maternal deaths in 2015 in Indonesia still reached 305 per 100 thousand. AKI during childbirth dropped from 4,999 cases in 2015 to 4,912 cases in 2016. While up to semester one in 2017 there were 1,712 cases of maternal deaths during childbirth. Maternal mortality was caused by several factors, namely 30.3% bleeding, 27.1% hypertension, 7.3% infection, 1.8% long labor, 1.6% abortion and 40.8% other factors. Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) throughout the world is one in 8 maternal deaths, estimated at 13% or 67,000 deaths, caused by unsafe abortions. Nearly 95% of unsafe abortions occur in developing countries and it is estimated that around the world, nearly 80,000 women die each year from complications after abortion, it is estimated that between 10% and 50% of all women who experience unsafe abortions require medical services due to complications . The number of MMR in Central Java in 2017 is 88.58 per 100 thousand live births. Data obtained from Pekalongan District Health Office in the number of MMR in Pekalongan Regency in 2016 amounted to 16 cases and in 2017 there were 18 cases. This shows an increase. Data obtained from Puskesmas Kesesi I is the number of abortion cases in 2015 as many as 7 people, in 2016 as many as 11 people and in 2017 as many as 8 people.
