Abstract

Non hemorrhagic stroke is the cessation of blood flow to the brain due to atorosclerosis so that the blood supply to the brain becomes disrupted. Non hemorrhagic stroke can result in balance disorders including muscle weakness, therefore stroke patients need rehabilitation to minimize physical disability so that they can undergo normal activities. This case study aims to determine the application of active-assistive Range Of Motion (spherical grip) to increase muscle strength of the upper limb in patients with non-hemorrhagic stroke. This case study design is a descriptive study that describes the application of the journal active assistive range of motion (spherical grip) which describes the value of upper limb muscle strength in both non hemorrhagic stroke patients. The subjects of this case study were 2 non-hemorrhagic stroke patients who experienced hemiparase in the muscles of the upper extremities in male and female patients aged 30-59 years whose muscle strength values were less than 5. Based on the observation of the application of active-assistive Range Of Motion (spheical grip) found an increase in the value of muscle strength, this occurs due to increased stimulation of the nerve muscles of the extremities where there will be a contraction of the interosseous and flexor digitorum muscles so that flexor pollicis longus and thenars will be equally active then contraction of the muscles will occur. can increase muscle strength. It was concluded that there was an effect of application giving the application of Range of Motion active-assistive (spherical grip) to increase muscle strength of the upper limb in patients with non-hemorrhagic stroke. Keywords: Non-hemorrhagic stroke, Range of Motion active-assistive (spherical grip), muscle strength.
