Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a joint degenerative disease caused by many factors, allergic reactions, infections, genetics and because of one's aging process. In osteoarthritis patients usually will experience pain in the knee area. Pain can be overcome by one method of non-pharmacological therapy to give warm compresses to ginger grater stew. Nursing interventions in warm compresses of ginger stew were done in the afternoon for 3 consecutive days in osteoarthritis patients at the Kedung Mundu health center in Semarang. In getting the results that the assessment of pain intensity using the NRS (Numeric Rating Scale) the average value of pain intensity is a scale of 5 on day 1, and on the second day decreased to 3. Conclusion therapy of warm compresses of ginger grater is very influential to reduce intensity pain in osteoarthritis patients and can be done independently.
