Abstract

Background: The national prevalence for joint diseases based on diagnosis of health and symptom workers according to Riskesdas (2013) is 30.3%. The prevalence of joint disease based on the diagnosis of health workers in Indonesia is highest at age ≥75 years (33% and 54.8%). The prevalence of joint disease in women was more (13.4%) than that of men (10.3%) as well as those diagnosed by health or symptom workers in women (27.5%) higher than men (21, 8%) (Riskesdas, 2013). Research method: This case study uses the study driscriptive method using the nursing approach process. Respondents were elderly with complaints of rheumatoid arthritis pain. Presentation of data by using material analysis content by comparing theories with facts found on clients. Result: Time for taking the case 11 - 17 February 2018. The place for taking this case study was at the Posyandu "Melati" in the work environment of the Ngembal Kulon Community Health Center. Case study method by providing warm compressed therapy for 6 days, assessment of pain scale at the beginning of the 3rd and 6th days, showed that regular warmer compresses can have an impact on reducing pain in the elderly with rheumatoid arthritis pain. Conclusion: From the results of the treatment of warm compressed lemongrass for 6 days to the elderly with rheumatoid arthritis pain, it was found that the administration of warm lemongrass compresses on a regular basis can have an impact on decreasing pain scale in the elderly with rheumatoid arthritis pain. So that it can be used as an alternative to non-pharmacological treatment to reduce rheumatoid arthritis pain. Keywords: Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain, Elderly, Treatment of Sere Warm Compress
