Abstract

Octetani massage is one of the breast care methods that do not cause pain. Octetani massage can stimulate the strength of the pectoralis muscle to increase milk production and make the breast softer and more elastic, making it easier for the baby to suck on breast milk. This type of research is a descriptive study case which is to describe case management in applying evidence based nursing practice by using the nursing process approach. The results of nursing actions that have been carried out to the respondents, there is an effect of giving breast massage with Oketani techniques in patients who experience decreased milk production. This was evidenced by breastfeeding studies and infant elimination patterns in 3 post-partum women respondents with decreased breastmilk production, with nursing techniques octetani breast massage techniques known to increase breastmilk production, babies not fussy and suckling strongly and patients felt breasts light and comfortable , and increase in urination as much 6-9 times a day. One assessment of ASI production is to assess the frequency of infant urination and urine volume. A normal baby will urinations as much 6-8 times a day. The results of this study are consistent with the research conducted by Budiarti (2009) and Mardianingsih (2010) which states that breast milk production can be assessed from the frequency of infant urination, which is 6-8 times a day and Mahmudah (2013) shows that there is a difference between the frequency of feeding, frequency defecate, frequency of urination in the respondent after an octetani massage and oxytocin on the seventh day.Oketani massage is given to each postpartum mother and is used as a health service program.
