Abstract

Laparatomy is abdominal surgery to open the lining of the stomach. Laparatomy surgery is performed in the event of severe health problems in the abdomen, for example abdominal trauma. Post laparatomy treatment is a form of care services provided to patient who have undergone abdominal surgery. One of the effect of post operative laparatomy is pain. Pain menegement by using guided imagery relaxation technique is a nursing action performed to reduce the patien’s pain at Roemani Muhammdiyah Hospital Semarang. The implementation of guided imagery is carried out by guiding patiens to imagine according to the patient’s pleasure. author applied two patients with a second day laparatomy post surgery at Roemani Muhammadiya Hospital Semarang. Data collection techniques by observation and interview. There was a decrease in pain in the two post operative laparatomy patients on the second day after being given relaxation guided imagery for 3 x for 3 days with an average 2 – 3 pain scale decrease with the Numeric Rating Scale ( NRS) measurement.
