Abstract

ABSTRAK EVALUASI SIFAT MEKANIK HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE YANG DIISI SERAT ATANG PISANG DAN PARTIKEL ZEOLIT ALAM Hardiman Nurcahyanto (C2A014008) Email : hardimann.c@gmail.com Pohon pisang yang merupakan limbah, dimanfaatkan pelepahnya untuk diambil seratnya guna pembuatan komposit. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui potensi sifat mekanik serat batang pisang yang dikombinasikan dengan serbuk mineral Zeolit, dan HDPE (Hight density polyethylene) sebagai matrik komposit ini. Untuk mengetahui sifat mekanik pada komposit dilakukan uji tarik ASTM D 638-02 dan DENT. Sebelum dijadikan komposit, serat dilakukan treatment menggunakan larutan NaOH 5% selama 2 jam dan dikeringkan pada suhu kamar selama 3-4 hari. Metode pembuatan komposit yaitu menggunakan injeksi molding (injection moulding) yang sebelumya dilakukan penyerbukan semua bahan agar tercampur sempurna dengan variasi komposisi serat:zeolit berturut-turut 2%:3%, 3%:2%, 4%:1% dan ligamen dengan variasi panjang 6 mm, 8 mm, dan 10 mm untuk spesimen uji. Hasil yang didapatkan komposit pengujian komposit dalam penelitian ini berupa uji kekuatan tarik menurut standart ASTM D 638-02 dan DENT. Hasil pengujian tarik dengan standart ASTM D 638-02 didapat nilai tertinggi maximum force, elongation, modulus young, dan tensile strength terdapat pada HDPE murni dengan nilai maximum force 678,90 Newton, elongation 16%, modulus young 514,50 N/mm2 dan tensile strength 22,63 N/mm2. Ketangguhan fracture We (essensial kerja) komposit terdapat pada spesimen komposit serat 4% zeolit 1% dengan nilai 203,27 kJ/m². Dapat disimpulkan komposit serat 4% zeolit 1% memiliki hubungan linier we (essensial kerja) yang baik dibandingkan pada komposit lainnya. ABSTRACT EVALUATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES HIGH DENSITY POLYETHILENE FILLED BATES OF BANANA AND NATURAL ZEOLITE PARTICLE Hardiman Nurcahyanto (C2A014008) Banana tree which is a waste, used for the preparation of fibers for fiber-making composite. This research was conducted to know the potential of mechanical properties of banana fiber fiber combined with Zeolite mineral powder, and HDPE (Hight density polyethylene) as this composite matrix. To know the mechanical properties of composite, tensile test of ASTM D 638-02 and DENT. Prior to composite, the fiber was treated using 5% NaOH solution for 2 hours and dried at room temperature for 3-4 days. The composite-making method is to use injection molding which previously pollinated all the ingredients to be completely mixed with variations of fiber composition: 2%: 3%, 3%: 2%, 4%: 1% and 2: 4%: ligaments with variations length 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm for test specimens. The results obtained composite composite testing in this study in the form of tensile strength test according to standard ASTM D 638-02 and DENT. The result of tensile test with ASTM D 638-02 stands for the highest value of maximum force, elongation, modulus young, and tensile strength is found in pure HDPE with maximum force value 678,90 Newton, elongation 16%, modulus young 514,50 N / mm2 and tensile strength 22.63 N / mm2. Fracture toughness We composite (compositional essence) are present in 4% zeolite fiber composite specimens 1% with values of 203.27 kJ / m². Can be concluded fiber composite 4% zeolite 1% has a good linear relationship (essensial work) compared to other composites.
