Abstract
Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme that catalyzes the interconversion of pyruvate and lactate with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) as a cofactor. LDH examined using serum samples and plasmsa EDTA. The level of LDH using serum samples was better because many researchers found the difference in the levels of lactate dehydrogenase different in EDTA plasma and serum samples. EDTA plasma samples lactate dehydrogenase decreased because it still contains platelets as enzyme carrier. In contrast to the serum before settling to occur clot playback on the sample so that after the screening of platelets was not there and lactate dehydrogenase is not affected. This study aimed to differences in levels of LDH serum and EDTA plasma. This type of research is analytic with cross sectional approach. Samples taken at random were 21 students of a total population of 40 students of the class C DIV Health Analyst, University of Muhammadiyah Semarang. Scans showed average levels of LDH in serum samples of 406 U / L, while the average level of LDH in EDTA plasma samples of 381 U / L. Shapiro-Wilk statistical test of the normality test, the results of> 0.05, which means normal and then proceed Independent test-sample T test showed a significance value of 0.030 with a significance level of 0.030 ≤ 0:05 0:05 namely that there are differences in levels of LDH in serum and EDTA plasma. while the average levels of LDH in EDTA plasma samples of 381 U / L.
