Abstract

In Indonesia the number of dengue cases tends to increase and spreading more widly each year. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in caused by dengue virus which is transmitted through the bite of Aedes sp mosquito. A safe alternative way to control Aedes sp as a disease vector is using natural ingredients from plants (plant-based pesticides). Plant-based pesticides are easily degredable(biodegradable) in nature, so itdoes not pollute the enviroment and are relativety safe for humans. Leaf avocado is aplant that has apotensial as a natural larvaside. Active ingredients of natural natural ingredients that have an ability to affects mosquito larvae such as saponin, tanin, flavanoids. This is experimental research. The larvae used in the form of larvae of Aedes sp was aged 3-4 days. Totally 480 samples used. Avocado leaf juice concentration used in this research is 100%, 50%, 25%. Each concentration use 6 repetitions for 24 hours contact times. The test result showed that the extract of avocado leaf juice can kill Aedes sp on all concentrations in the test, Avocado leaf juice concentration of 100%, 50%, 25%, the percentage of larval mortality respectively 95%, 93,3%, 73,8%. There is a significant differences in larval mortality in avocado leaaf juice dilution concentration on larval mortallity.
