Abstract

Background: Professional characteristics weren’t only applied by nursing students, but also must be applied by preceptor in developing professional practice abilities in learning the clinical practice. These professional characters include caring, activism, professionalism, trust and justice characteristics. The Purpose of the Study: was to describe the professional characteristics of preceptor at Roemani Hospital Semarang. Research method: Design of research used was descriptive quantitative with survey approach with sampling technique that was total sampling of 17 respondents. The data collection was carried out with a questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. The statistical analysis used univariate analysis. Results of the Study: showed that the professional characteristics of preceptor at Roemani Hospital Semarang well with a total value of 84 and a maximum total value of 108 with an average total value of 98.6429. Caring, professionalism and trust characteristics had the same result that was good category of 8 (57.1%), the characteristic of activism had a result with a good category of 7 (50%) and the justice characteristic had a good category result of 10 (71.4%). Conclusion: The characteristics professionals of preceptor at Roemani Hospital Semarang were good category.
