Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease that lasts chronicles. Number of patients and complications of diabetes is expected to increase. People with diabetes need to perform routine laboratory tests to assess control, monitor therapy or treatment that is being done, and to detect the risk of diabetes complications. Through the examination HbA1c levels diabetes sufferers can monitor blood glucose levels on average in the last 3 months, and equipped with examination Fibrinogen levels can find out any interruption to change hemostasis in vascular physiology. The purpose of this study is to describe the levels of HbA1c and Fibrinogen in patients with DM who carry out checks on the Prodia Semarang Clinical Laboratory. This type of research is a descriptive study conducted observational. The populations in this study were all patients with DM who carry out checks on the Prodia Semarang Clinical Laboratory who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria during the period from January to December, 2016. Specimens used for examination of the HbA1c is the blood of EDTA and for the examination of the Fibrinogen of the sample used is plasma Citrat. The results of the 100 samples showed that levels of HbA1c and Fibrinogen in DM patients (who carry out checks on the Prodia Semarang Clinical Laboratory) can be described into 3 groups, firstly the presence of elevated of HbA1c levels followed by increase in the levels of Fibrinogen as much as 79%, secondly the presence of increased levels of HbA1c without Fibrinogen levels increase as much as 2%, and the third as well as their normal levels of HbA1c and Fibrinogen levels as much as 19%.
