Abstract
Patient safety has become the latest issue in health services, especially in hospital health services since 2000 based on the increasing incidence of unwanted events (adverse events). Although there are patient safety SOPs, such as having a fall risk assessment and management form which includes calculating scores and interventions according to the risk of falls, environmental safeguards, and family education, the problems that occur are not all nurses behave in accordance with the SOP and patient safety education be accepted. This study aims to determine the effect of patient safety training on the practice of implementing patient safety nurse implementers at the Sleman Regional General Hospital (RSUD). This study uses a quantitative approach with the design of Quasi Experiment with the approach of pre and post test without control design. The population is all implementing nurses who have not participated in patient safety training or have attended patient safety training at Sleman Hospital both male and female, amounting to 185 people. The sample is a portion of the population of 66 nurses with a proportional random sampling technique. the independent variable is patieng training in safety and the dependent variable is patient safety practice. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the mean value before patient safety training was 39.05 with a standard deviation of 2.737, the lowest value was 34 and the highest value was 46. The mean value after patient safety training was 60.68 with a standard deviation of 3.469, the lowest value of 55 and the highest score of 69. The Wilcoxon test results obtained p value = 0,000 (p <0.05) which means that there is an influence of patient safety training on the practice of implementing patient safety nurse implementers at Sleman Regional Hospital. This study concluded that there was an effect of patient safety training on the practice of implementing patient safety nurse implementers at Sleman Hospital. It is recommended to the Sleman Hospital to do bureaucratic pruning in fulfilling inventory materials that support the implementation of the patient safety program.
