Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine BOD levels by comparing the permanganometric and iodometric analysis methods. The object of this study was artificial samples (artificial) H_2 C_2 O_4.〖2H〗_2 O with variations in the concentration of 50 ppm; 100 ppm; and 150 ppm with 2 treatments each with 4 repetitions. The results of this study obtained an average percentage difference in the results of the successive permanganometric method that is 11,49 ppm; 16,41 ppm; and 22,18 ppm, while the iodometric method obtained 14,73 ppm respectively; 16,93 ppm; and 18,65 ppm. From the results of the difference in BOD levels the results and controls can be concluded that the percentage of errors in the permanganometry method is greater than the iodometry method Keywords:Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), analytical methods, Permanganometry, Iodometry, Wastewater.
