Abstract

Making permanent preparations begins with soaking KOH for 24 hours, followed by dehydration, clearing and mounting. The purpose of dehydration is to attract or expel water in the tissues. Common ingredients used are 96%, 50% and 30% alcohol. The purpose of this study is to determine whether variations in the time of immersion alcohol in the preparation of preparations can produce a good preparation , the research used is an experimental researcher by using variations in the time of soaking alcohol each level 1x15 minutes, 2x15 minutes and 3x15 minutes. The object used was Ctenocephalides canis fats which were divided into 3 test groups. Results with using a time variation of 1x15 minutes less damage and poor preparations are absent, at a time variation of 2x15 minutes the level of damage is moderate and obtained bad preparations 1 while a time variation of 3x15 minutes gets a lot of damage by getting a bad preparation 3, the lowest percentage of damage is obtained at a time immersion variation alcohol 1 x 15 minutes. Key words : Dehydration, Variation, Alcohol 96%, 50 % and 30%
