Abstract
One of the macroscopic examinations of urine is the specific gravity. Examination of the specific gravity of the urine is related to the kidney concentration phenomenon. Examination of urine specific gravity can be done with refractometer and automatic device that is Miditron Junior II. Examination with Miditron Junior II has the disadvantage that if obtained by weight of Miditron Junior II <= 1.005 and> 1,025 then check with Refractometer as confirmation check and the result reported is result of Refractometer tool. The purpose of this research is to know result differences the ratio of urine weight using Miditron Junior II and Refractometer. The type of research is analytical research.The population came from all patients who had routine urine checks. Samples were taken randomly without regard to age and gender of 48 respondents, then examined the specific gravity of urine. The results of the examination showed the average of urine weight yield with Midiron Junior II 1.010, while the average of the results of the specific gravity measurement by means of Refractometer 1.011. This indicates that the specific gravity checks with Refractometer tools are higher than those of Miditron Junior II, but both are within normal limits. Wilcoxon statistic test shows the significance value of 0.441 with a significance level of 0.05 is 0.441 ≥ 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is no difference between the results of urine type of weight measurement between Miditron Junior II and Refraktometer tools.
