Abstract

One of the world's health problems is hypertension. Hypetension causes 1 in 8 death rates worldwide. The percentage of hypertension rate increases every year so that researchers are interested in doing this research. Hypertension is a multifactorial disease, one of which is very affecting is cholesterol. High levels of cholesterol in the blood can increase the occurrence of atherosclerosis. This atherosclerosis can cause the blood flow is not smooth, so the heart will pump blood stronger and menimbukan hypertension. Cholesterol in people with hypertension is influenced by several factors such as degree of hypertension, sex and age. The purpose of this study was to determine the picture of cholesterol levels based on hypertension status with a review of the degree of hypertension, level hipertension, sex, age. The type of research is descriptive research. The research was conducted at PRODIA clinic laboratory General Sudirman no. 121 West Semarang in October - December 2016. Sampling is taken by Convinence Sampling and got sample 56 people. Samples were examined using the CHOD-PAP method. Based on the examination of cholesterol level in hypertension patient in Laboratorium Clinic PRODIA Semarang Barat 56 respondents got 14 people (25%) with the result of normal cholesterol and 42 people (75%) with cholesterol above the reference value.
